Capstone Design Engineering Proposal for Industry Sponsors Logo
  • Capstone Design Engineering Proposal for Industry Sponsors

  • BGSU School of Engineering solicits capstone design project proposals from industry partners. Our senior students will take the industry challenge and find potential solutions in collaborative efforts. Each capstone design team consists of 4-5 students from mechanical, electronics, robotics, and system engineering programs. They look at the projects holistically, come up with solutions, and present the solutions.

For any questions or more information, please email Dr. Sonia Chacko, Assistant Professor or call her at 419-372-6387.

    1. Capstone projects are scheduled according to academic semesters and vary depending on the major in which the student is enrolled. All engineering, engineering technology, and computer science programs align their projects with the relevant semester. For example, a project may start in January and finish in May for the spring semester or start in August and finish in December for the fall semester.
    2. Typically, teams of three to five senior students work on each project.
    3. A faculty advisor mentors students for each project and meets regularly with them.
    4. Sponsors may assign an industry advisor who will communicate regularly with the student team and provide technical support when needed.
    5. Projects should be designed for approximately 300-400 hours of student project work depending on team size.
    6. Student project results are provided "as is" without any representation or warranties whatsoever, whether express or implied, including, but not necessarily limited to any warranty as to fitness for particular purposes, merchantability or non-infringement.
